Settings Mnemosyne.
The Settings let you customize your Mnémosyne space: local identity, vault, appearance, reminders, locking, modules, mission types, document categories, and data-related settings.
A separate configuration by usage.
The settings are organized into sections to distinguish between daily preferences, your space’s identity, optional features, the catalogs used in the app, and data-related settings.
You don't need to modify every section before you get started. Mnémosyne can be used with a simple setup and then gradually adapted to your business.
Preferences of everyday life.
The General section contains the settings that directly affect your day-to-day use of Mnémosyne.
In particular, you can identify your local vault, choose the app's appearance, set the default reminder, and adjust the automatic lock timeout.
The display of icons in the sidebar can also be turned on or off according to your preference.
Give it a clear name to your local area.
The vault is the local storage space where Mnemosyne stores your data. You can customize its name in the General settings.
The interface also lets you rename the vault when its name needs to be changed. Use a name that is descriptive enough to easily identify your workspace.
The vault name is used to identify your data storage space. Information regarding its storage, backup, and security is detailed in the Security & Data guide.
«My Activity» is not a customer file.
This section is intended solely to identify the owner of the Mnémosyne space.
The information provided here does not create a client, an assignment, or a business relationship. It describes your own business or organization.
The name of the business or organization is required. Your name, country or region, and a logo can complete this profile.
Customize the interface for your use.
Use the "Language and Region" section to select the language that Mnémosyne uses for its labels and interface.
If the display or certain labels do not match what you expect, this section is one of the first settings you should check.
The user guide recommends checking the application's language and default settings before you start organizing your first folders.
Just enable the features you need.
Some of Mnémosyne's tools are optional. The "Modules" section lets you show or hide them depending on how you work.
In the current version, financial tracking can be enabled when you want to track financial information in your files.
If you don't need it, you can leave it turned off to keep the interface simpler.
Financial Monitoring
Enable this module only when your specific needs require tracking of accounts or financial information.
Disabling it hides the views and financial fields without deleting the existing data.
Types of Assignments and document categories.
Mnémosyne uses reusable catalogs to avoid having to recreate the same types of tasks or classifications for each new file.
Organize mission templates
This section allows you to manage the catalog of assignment types used to organize your various work topics.
These types are reused when you create or edit a task, which helps maintain a consistent organization across folders.
Manage Assignment TypesStabilize the document classification system
Document categories organize the import and classification of documents using reusable categories.
When importing a document, the selected type determines the category in which the document will be filed.
Manage Document CategoriesIncreasing the number of task types or document categories without a real need for them quickly complicates filing. Add only those distinctions that have lasting value for your business.
License, Security and data.
Settings also provides access to the License and Activation, Storage and Security, and Data and Trash sections.
License and Activation
In the Mac App Store version, no license key is required to start using Mnémosyne.
Storage and Safety
Mnemosyne data remains stored locally on your Mac in the app's vault.
Data and Recycle Bin
Use the Recycle Bin with caution, and only move an item when you are certain you no longer need it.
Four settings To be checked as a priority.
You don't need to go through all the options before you start working. First, check the ones that have a direct impact on your day-to-day environment.
Check the name of your business or organization and the information that identifies your space.
Select the appropriate language for the labels and the Mnémosyne interface.
Set a time limit that's appropriate for your environment, especially if your Mac may be used or accessed in a shared space.
Enable only the optional features that your business actually needs.
