Set an entry aside for a future date, for yourself or for someone else, and then look it up when the time comes.
Write today. Open later.
A time capsule starts with an entry you've already written in your journal.
You choose a future date and decide whether this message is intended for you or should be forwarded to someone else.
Once sealed, its contents are set aside until the conditions for opening it are met.
Transform a Foyer in a time capsule.
The transformation is available starting with an input in the «Open» state that is not already sealed.
In «Notebook,» select an open entry that isn't already sealed.
Next, select «Convert to capsule.».
Select one of the available dates, then tap «Continue.».
Select «Myself» or «A third party.» If you're selecting a third party, carefully enter their email address.
Double-check the date and the recipient, then tap «Seal.» Wait for the result before exiting.
For yourself or for someone else.
The recipient is selected before the capsule is sealed.
A time capsule for your future self
Select «Myself» when you want to personally retrieve this entry on the scheduled date.
A capsule meant for someone
Select «A third party» when the content is intended for someone else.
Carefully check their email address before confirming.
A capsule intended for a third party is designed for that person. Use this option only if you truly wish to share the content with them.
A capsule is no more a regular entry.
When you seal an entrance, its behavior changes.
The content can no longer be used as an open entry until the capsule has reached its opening time.
In this version of iOS, the date and recipient cannot be changed after the message is sealed.
Check your balance before sealing.
Creating a capsule depends on the credits available and the terms of your offer.
You can check how many capsules are available from the «Me» tab.
Available capsules
Check your balance in the «Subscription and Capsules» section.
If the app declines the lock, read the message that appears and then check your credits in «View Offers.».
Check out «Time Capsules»
Clear your search terms and filters if the section does not appear.
Scroll through the cards horizontally, then tap the card you want to view.
His file includes, among other things, his status and the date the case was opened.
They remain visible in your Notebook.
The capsules have their own section in the Notebook tab.
If this section is missing even though you have capsules, start by clearing the search results and active filters.
Understanding what the form says.
The displayed status lets you know whether the capsule can already be opened.
The opening date hasn't arrived yet.
The scheduled time has arrived. Open the card and use the suggested action.
Authorized content can now be found and viewed.
Unsealed, Expired, or Status Unavailable: Follow the instructions listed on the product page.
When it will be opened depends on the scheduled date, the condition of the capsule, and its recipient.
When the time comes, Refresh, then open.
An Internet connection is required to check whether the capsule can be opened.
When the date arrives, update your Logbook, then open the capsule's entry.
Make sure your device has an active Internet connection.
Check the status displayed for the relevant capsule.
When this screen appears, use the suggested open action.
After it has been officially opened, the capsule becomes accessible.
If the opening date has just arrived, go straight to Le Carnet, refresh the content, and then view the capsule's details.
Some things are worth to wait for their moment.
Time capsules allow you to preserve an entry until a chosen date, for yourself or for someone else.
